Yahoo is buying Tumblr. Its a move bold and a show of strength from a company which many believe is on a perpetual decline. Possibly also a harbinger of things to come under Marissa Meyer. Its a billion dollar question (In all sense) - How will Yahoo benefit from it?
And Will it help bring up Yahoo's user engagement and minutes? How will Yahoo monetise Tumblr? Though initial direction is to keep Tumblr separate, will Yahoo be looking to integrate Tumblr with its other services to increase/generate revenues? If yes, then how? Will Tumblr's cool factor rub off on yahoo? Answering these questions will be very critical to Marissa's and Yahoo's future.
