Google Reader Shut Down (March 2013)

I am Sad because Google is killing its reader. I feel  they could have atleast kept a paid option so that users would have a choice to keep it, but it is not a solution.

Reader has been hostile for support/existence at Google from the time when long afore. I'm quite certain Reader was helpless with de-staffing at least three times prior to it really occurred. It was mostly for few motives linked to social:

• In 2008 -let's pull the team off to build Open Social
• In 2009 - let's pull the team off to build Buzz
• In 2010 - let's pull the team off to build Google+

It seems they decided to kill it anyhow in 2010, however most of the engineers chose contrary to linking G+.
